BRS dual ALGAE reactor?

Has anybody converted the BRS dual reactor into an algae reactor? I am wanting to use this reactor due to price point and I want the dual reactor to increase water volume and have chaeto in both chambers?

I am mainly wanting to use an algae reactor to buffer ph and remove excess C02 as I seem to have a chronic c02 problem. What has everybody's luck been increasing ph using an algae reactor?
