I am debating which of these dry rocks to order for my 110 build. I was wondering if anyone here has used either rock and their experiences with the rock and maybe a picture of the aquascaping and tips and tricks used with each. I have gone back and forth between the two rocks, I plan on using a good sized piece of live rock, most likely from the AC once its set up to help seed. I am leaning towards a minimalist scapingn possibly the ever so popular tower/island scape. Thanks y'all.

I used the reef saver rocks from BRS. They are great because they seem to "interlock" nicely.

They are great once bacteria and algae start to cover them but be prepared for lots of PO4 from them in the beginning.

Leo- What size tank is that and how much rock did you order? Great looking tank.
Bart- I just looked at them a little while ago.

I have Pukani in my tank and my friend ordered the reef saver. You get a lot more rock with the pukani no questions asked! The reef saver in my opinion doesn't look as good.

Just a little extra info. My friend ordered the pukani for his most recent tank....

I say pukani

I have a 120 and I ordered 75 lbs of pukani. They sent close to 90 and I got my scape how I liked it and then had a large left over piece for my sump.

I have used both of them and both have their own merits. I like the shapes of the pukani better than the reef saver but I like the way you can "interlock" the reef saver rock for a steadier scape.

When I ordered the pukani it had a LOT of dead organic material in/on it. I don't know if it is all like that or not but it was FUNKY after a few days in the curing tank.

With all that said I prefer to use Marco rock now. It is a lot like the reef saver rock but it has 0 organic life on it and it ends up being cheaper if you catch it on special.

I ended up ordering 100 lbs of Marco rock and it arrived today. I've been messing with it for like 20 minutes. Its amazing looking rock and comes well packed. With all the bubble wrap the rocks were wrapped in it was a win all the way around, kept the kids entertained for a good half hour! So far it gets two thumbs up!

I know it! I tried leaving work early to get home after I got the e-mail from Fed-Ex. The lady at my apartments asked what was in the boxes and I said "Rocks!" She looked at me like I was crazy but I was pleased as punch. LOL!
