Curious if anyone knows if the BRS screen top netting along is reef safe to have in the water column? What I'm looking at doing is using the excess netting I have to hold and stabilize filter pads to minimize the noise of the drain to my sump along with reducing bubbles and splashing. The link below is what I have.

I bought their netting too. At a point of neglect the overflow baffles were gunked up and the water level came up for a good month, submerging the netting on top. I have a fully stocked reef tank: sps, lps, fish, and inverts. Nothing bad happened.

I use a piece of it to cover the end of my 1" return line to prevent anything from being sucked in when I shut off the pump. It's been continuously submerged in place for over 5 months with no apparent issues.

I wrap it around egg crate for use in my sump to keep the cheato in place. No problems; nothing unusual on the Triton water test.
