Thanks guys. I bought some clear acrylic today at Lowe's, but my brother forgot to send the router table with my dad, so I'll be meeting him tomorrow to pick it up. Still have to go get some Weld-On 4 anyway before anything can be glued together.

Woot....got some acrylic work done tonight. Second side is gluing to the bottom.

I couldn't figure out the best way to use the router to get the edges smooth, so I used the scorer tool and sand paper to get the edges are flat as possible. I glued them with Weld-On 4 and then I got the thicker glue to run down the corners to make sure it fills any gaps. Its not going to be as nice as if I had somebody professional do it, but its a fun project nevertheless.

Also thinking about doing a second box as well for another part of the system :)

HAHA nice!

Yeah, always super nervous when getting glass drilled. Even worse that we did it out of the back of my buddies Jeep at his work, haha. I was pouring water to keep the bit cool as he was putting holes in my new tank :)

A few updates:

Got the sump done, except for the small inserts to make the return pump area. I'm pretty excited about it as it turned out pretty good, I just wish I knew how to properly finish acrylic :) It fits perfectly in the bottom of the stand - more on that tomorrow as last piece is gluing now :)

Also got the tank drilled as mentioned above - return is on the left of the pictures, overflow will be on the right:

Few more pics of the "sump", haha. The smaller part will be sort of like an overflow where the return pump (probably a maxijet) will live. Not the greatest work in the world, but it'll do :) I also have an idea for topoff but I need to get a new proper size holesaw.

So this is the idea behind the sump, an AquaClear 50 with an inTank media basket providing the filtration for the tank.

This is the inTank media basket in the AquaClear and pictures of it separately.

Thanks Rev. I'll likely water test it tomorrow to see what happens :)

Next I have to work on my overflow box - I have black acrylic for this project. :clap2:

Water testing the sump I made above....no leaks :)

There was a small leak from the main part into the area where the pump goes, so I'll put down some thicker glue to seal that up before the sump goes into action.

Picked up two 1/2 inch bulkheads on the way home. Paint and overflow box work tonight.
