Bryopsis has taken over. Help!

Long story short, I let 5 corals in my 6 gallon pico die at the same time because I didn't know that orange bagged reef crystals and purple bagged sea salt are completely different. :loudly-crying-face: As a result, a nutrient spike killed 2 fish, 5 snails, 1 sea sponge, and brought me the gift of dark green bryopsis coating every corner of the tank. I have been doing many water changes, and manual removal, but by the next day everyday it looks as if I didn't just spend 45 minutes scrubbing it all off. Any advice/experience with it? I can give any detailed information if requested. But the tutorial videos I see on youtube involve huge tanks, where they can just put in reef flux 100 gal pills. :'''(

Nitrates:7ppm (40ppm during spike)

Phosphates: 0.03ppm (0.2 ppm during spike)

Get a small scale. Get some reef flux pills. I think i used a full pill for my 15. Divide the WIEGHT by 3. Or do the math based on the instructions for the appropriate proportion. Dose as directed

Wasn't one pill for like a large quantity of water? I'll look into it though. Thanks

One capsule per 10 gallons :)
Get one bottle you'll be set for life

Is there any coral and stuff left? Peroxide dip really does wonders on it too.

I have 1 coral, 1 fish, 3 hermit crabs, and a bunch of macroalgae in there at the moment. I ended up moving the rest of my sponges, and all of my sensitive macroalgaes into my other system after cleaning them off. And if I can rid of this bryopsis which is also clogging my filtration tubing like crazy, I can finally restock lol

Uh so I would watch that other system because even if you clean it off. Bryopsis can transfer.

Yeah I know. I've been seeing small amounts of bryopsis in said tank, but I am paying serious attention to it and I remove any strands of it I see. It seems to be working since it it doesn't come back after removing it apon detection a few times.

Moving bryopsis ridden organisms to a clean tank was something I had to think about for a while, but the sponges weren't dying any slower in their original tank.
