I know it’s kinda too soon but what fish do y’all think I should get next? I’m probably thinking something on the bigger side (around the same size as the foxface) just because it was the main personality/focal point in the tank. I’m not sure if I’d go with another foxface or not tbh.

Kole Tang maybe? Could work if yours is a standard 4 footer. Flame Angel? A shoal of Anthias? LOL, I guess that is what I would be thinking. A Borbonius Anthias maybe? I loved my Midas Blenny.

I still haven’t gotten anything yet, but I agree, a flame angel would definitely be cool. I mean I also wouldn’t be against getting another Foxface. Ive noticed since his passing how much he really helped contribute to keeping the gta contained lol.

Update 10/23/20: Still haven’t got any new fish. Honestly, haven’t been to the pet store since the Foxface died. Anyways, everything else is still looking good. Candycanes are getting HUGE, and the clowns and Mandarin are continuing to do great.
Also, sorry I haven’t been on reef2reef as much lately

So sorry for the loss of your Foxface. Hopefully you can take comfort in knowing that you didn't do anything wrong. As hard as we try, some things are just beyond our control. I feed my FF the same food as you mentioned that you use and she's 6-1/2 years old. Our fish are as dear to us as our furry pets.

Hello everybody! I am currently cycling my new 55 gal reef aquarium. The tank has been up and running since 1/2/19. I will be posting updates as the tank progresses.

Feel free to comment, give feedback, ask questions, etc.

•1 Foxface Rabbitfish

•DIY 29 gal sump with refugium
•Reef Octopus 110 classic protein skimmer
•Eshopps 1000 hob overflow
•Duetto dual sensor ATO
•2 bulb t8 fixture along with Marineland led strip light (looking to upgrade lighting in the near future)
•Green Killing Machine 24w uv sterilizer

•3 Candycane frags

I've always called it dry rock but that refers to before it actually goes into the water. But live rock is probably the correct term

Oh gotcha. Yeah, when it starts getting Coraline it's definitely called live rock

I've been really wanting to buy an anemone for the clowns but prices are ridiculous right now. It's $100 for a small bubble tip at the lfs, so I think ill wait for the prices to calm down a little

Hey ya'll, I hope all is well with you guys.... anyways, I have a final update: Around a year ago the tank sprung a leak and I ended up losing everything, unfortunately. I'm just glad it didn't start a fire when the water got on the electrical stuff. As for the fish, coral, etc., I gave them all to one of my friends. The clownfish have since passed but the coral is still doing well. It's a real bummer, but I'm keeping my equipment in hopes of starting a tank back up one day. I still have passion for this hobby!
