BTA foot colour

Hi everyone, I was just wondering if you all can please give me some advice in regards to the colour of my anemone's feet.

Is the fading indicative of lack of zooxanthellae, I haven't seen any expulsion but that doesn't mean its not occuring.

These 2 are new to my tank and daily open up happily and haven't moved since their initial wander but the line of colour change greatly concerns me.

Age of tank? Tank lighting? parameters? This will help people help you :)


Also, being that they were just introduced they will need time to adjust to your tank.

Tank is roughly 14 months old but the rocks been going 3 years at least as I've upgraded.

Lighting is a Kessil AP700 with settings topping out on 36% intensity around 12 inches above the water surface. They aren't reaching much through the day.

Salinity 1.026
Temp 25°c

I plan to test parameters today when I get home but last time I checked they were pretty good.

I know the adjustment period can take a while and I'm happy to be patient but I simply dont want to lose them.

They still seem like they have really good color they may just need a little more time but let’s see what someone else has to say ill be following along

As so long as its not falling apart, it has a pretty good chance of survival. Thats when its an emergency.

It definitely is not happy but tbh its not bad. At least its extending a little bit. If you have flow directed at it, it might not want to open up for a longer period of time. Just adding this because mine really HATES anything above lowish flow.

Reducing lighting for a bit could help coax it out a bit more which is what I did.

Yeah, no rapid changes and not too strong a light and you should be ok.
