Does it look like its foot was injured when it was removed from it's tank at the store? The spot in question is on the left side of the foot.
Possibly, but it's tough to say without a closer pic and white light. Luckily these tend to be pretty robust anemones. My vote is: put it in a spot that is likely to be a good place for it to settle and let it settle in. Try tying it to rock. LOOSELY. with a rubber band and see it attaches.
I would leave it in the basket for a week or so, so long as it can get light in it, but it looks bleached, so make sure it’s not getting blasted with light. Try feeding it in a few days (something small like brine or mysis), but don’t over do it,The nem didn't seem to want to attach to the rockwork last night. I made a few attempts to set it in a crack. It held on for a short time then started to tumble around the tank. I put it into a little fish breeding basket I had overnight so it would get injured and it seems to have attached. I don't want to hurt its foot any further trying to remove it. Any suggestions for getting it out?
I was considering disassembling the basket and allowing it to walk out on it's own. At least it seems to be looking healthy. It's mouth is closed and it's not all shriveled up.
Set a power head in the basket aimed at it it will close up detach a little and then you can pull the basket for a minute or and it will completely let go and fall off.
