BTA missing

I had 2 bta's in my tank. I woke up one day and one was just missing. never been able to find it since. the second one went missing when I got a rodi unit and started using rodi to do water changes and top offs. I started out with just a 5 gallon water change the first 2 weeks. then I moved up to a 10 gallon water change. I have not been able to find either one now. I think the second one is hiding inside a rock. has this happened to anyone else? I would hate to tear down my tank just to find them...

Had they been getting larger, smaller or bleaching? What are your tank parameters? Two scenarios: they like to move behind under rocks when they are splitting or when they are dying for some reason. You will know very soon (1-2 days) if it was the first one.

The one that has been missing for a week was getting smaller. The other one who knows where it's at. I did test my water yesterday. Nitrates are fine.

The fact the one was shrinking is not a good sign and it has most likely died. The other will soon fallow most likely.
If you want advice stating your nitrates are fine is useless! I asked for you water parameters to be able to figure out what is going on to help you. What you consider fine may if fact not be. Anamones like to have nitrate in the water column and use it as a food source, so if your nitrates are zero they and not fine at all. Anemones do great in water with nitrates much higher. 120 is not a problem for the to handle at all and they will thrive.
