Bubble Algae Explosion

On two separate occasions, I purchased an emerald crab to help me with bubble algae. Both crabs died rather suddenly and of suspicious circumstance. I'm convinced they were victims of an attack from one of my other fish, I'm just unsure of which though I have some ideas.

I don't want to keep sacrificing crabs just to see if one can survive long enough to take on the algae. What other natural solutions, besides manual removal or chemicals, can help me get my bubble algae under control?

I’ve learned to just deal with it. Idk if this is what other do, but it doesn’t grow insanely fast for me.

Pithos crabs are more proven. Foxface are good too.

I would love a fox face, but I'm really worried that (other than the bubble algae) I don't have enough general algae to sustain it.

You could always just supplement with an algae clip.
