I decided to do a build thread since it’s been almost 8 years since I started I don’t have many pictures, but I will post all the tanks and then the tank I currently have.
My first tank was a jbj 45 all in one. And it failed miserably. Yes there’s a tang in there…
That is my wife and daughter drawing out some fish on the piece of cardboard I used to measure the tank and aqua scape.

We ended up moving and I restarted with a small desktop tank and it did well. So I decided to get a used Red Sea reefer 525xl. I put it in the basement and wrapped the stand white.

The tank did great. I swapped the lights for 3 Radion g15s. There is my daughter a bit older and enjoying the reef.

Even though my basement is finished, I didn’t spend as much time enjoying my reef as I liked, and the wife wouldn’t let me keep a big tank upstairs I downgraded to a reefer 200xl. I now have a Alkatronic to monitor my alkalinity, and a single g5 radion pro. The pictures are a bit old, but you get the idea!

Waterbox peninsula 4820 is set up and running. I used live sand and some live caribe sea reef rock. I had media balls in my tank and some rock in the sump of my more mature tank and transferred those over as well. I added a bottle of Fritz’ live bacteria and I believe the tank is instant cycled. I also plan on adding 5g of water from my main tank to this tank for a month before I transfer everything else over. I have a ton of sps and I want to be sure there not too much of a shock
