Long story short I changed water in my tank and ever since then my bubble magus curve 7 is overflowing out of control. My skimmer sits in about 10 inches of water in my sump.

I've got a high po4 problem, and I'm hoping that the skimmer combined with my water changes get my PO4 under control. I have the skimmer airflow dialed to 'max' and the skimmer is still over flowing. Do I need to raise the skimmer or lower it to solve this problem?

Thanks!

If it helps I run my curve 7 at 9 inches
I'm thinking I need to pick it up to 8 inches cause it's sitting low right now! Off to the store tomorrow to get some eggcrate and build a lift.

I looked at two different sites and got two different answers . One was 9 to 11 inches depth the other was 9.5 to 11
I saw the same thing so that's why I split the difference at 10. I raised it up about a half an inch and I'll continue working it up until it's at the right level.

Have you got the outflow adjuster set to “min”?

There should be a dial on a stick, that changes how fast flow leaves the skimmer to adjust the water level within it. If this is set too low then you’ll have overflow issues.

Note on the Curve 5, or at least on mine, the “max” setting was the “maximum outflow” - ie minimum level within the skimmer.

I had to raise mine higher than the Manufacturer recommended height before I could dial it in. Also it worked fine until it got a bit of film on it, then I couldn’t adjust it till I raised it.

Yeah I have it set to "Max" which I've learned is the setting I need to have it at for now
