Anyone can give me any tips on getting my anemone out of this cave its hiding in.

it defitnly cant be getting any light under there. i would like to chill on a spot i can see it and for some reason it doesnt enflate the bubble tips alot.

it also seems to retract back into its foot that is now wedged into the rock hole/cave. its like its completely gone when it retracts. but it keeps retracting and expanded a couple times a day ? is this normal ?

My tank is a 40 gallon cube 21" deep light sits on top of water edge and it is a kessil 360we tuna blue currenlty the light is at max 50% intensity during peak daylight hours.

water parameters are good no ammonia is present (seachem ammonia badge)

Params look good, maybe it's just getting acclimated to surroundings. Mine did weird stuff when first introduced. Let it get settled and find it's own "happy place" (flow etc) They migrate until they feel comfortable. I started with 2, now have 7 in one tank and 1 offspring in another. Just don't force it to go where it's not happy.

A healthy, happy BTA will stay out all day and may or may not recede to varying degrees at night. If it's retracting and expanding multiple times during the day then there may be something environmental it doesn't like. In your case, at 1 week, it may just still be adjusting. It might just stay there and eventually stretch itself out into the light. Give it a few more days and monitor for any decline in health. It's looking nicely inflated in the pic.

I would leave it alone, anemones like to do their own thing. It probably is looking for a secure spot before it spreads out. I would just supplement it with a couple small pieces of shrimp to make sure it has some nutrition

so i did gently move the anemone after removeing a rock i had topping off the cave for some zoas that i glued on.

As of last night the anemone managed to crawl back into the cave lol so thats where he is gonna stay i guess. he really likes it in there. even after chilling on the back glass for a while.

he still good colored and has a good expansion on his tenticals but dosent stay enlarged for long sometimes hes all shriveld up in that cave?

he definlty can craWL around pretty fast and looks healthy. all water parameters check out excpet my calcium is a little high.
