all sounds like good advice to me I've kept a mother colony, RBT , for five years, until you start to see red and green algae form in your sand bed that will tell you that your tank is maturing

In the past I remember my nems would primarily only move due to flow changes. Even with a little rock move at one entirely different part of the tank then they would move a little to get back where they seemed to like the flow. Assuming all params are stable and not fluctuating I would think flow could be the issue whether it is something else in the tank that's changed the flow the nems feel or even a motor for the fans/wavemakers/return pumps or anything else that makes movement which may be malfunctioning. Or if you have any inverts that may be bugging them or eaten by the nem and its got a tummy ache ;Vomit
