Looks like an isopod... Might be a bad kind but would need to see a pic from the top.

From the article you posted… “Dynoides dentisinus is a marine isopod, which is native to the Northwest Pacific from Russia to the East China Sea.”. Not exactly tropical…

Nothing in the tanks seems to be affected by them. Have kept an extra close eye on everything.

That's most likely a Sphaeromatid of some kind (though close up, clear pics of the mouthparts and tail would help confirm that; if it curls into a ball [conglobates] that would confirm it too) - should be harmless/beneficial.
