Xl Amphipods - couldn’t catch the larger one!

Finally was able to catch one of the large amphipods running around my tank at night. One of them is the size of a freshwater neocaridina shrimp! I know they are mostly seen as good but anyone have an idea on what types could cause problems? Probably too many species to count. I think they are...

Which inverts eat amphipods but are reef safe?

I'm running a softie only coral tank with some inverts. Recently, there has been a huge abundance of huge amphipods which I believe ate all of my zoas (my leather crown/toadstool and rhodactis mushrooms are completely untouched). Any recommendations for low maintenance inverts that eat...

Anyone know the name of these tiny triangular kite shape white bugs

Anyone know the species ? Saw them walking all over a few mushrooms (these guys are same size as tisbe pods) I also saw them eating dinoflagellates (can only see them under strong magnification) One of the mushrooms was closed for a few days - upon inspection noticed these white bugs crawling...

    ID for tiny sand worm

Found this little guy making trails through my sandbed, it's no more than 5 mm long, has two eyes and mandables, as well as front grabbers that resemble what a shrimp has, and then the rest of its body is long and shrimp like. I'm hoping it's a type of pod, but I'm worried it's a bristle worm...

    Amphipods?

I have these little guys all along the glass in the sandbed. Have a few in the sump as well. They appear to make their own little cocoon type of thing when there is no sand available. Spotted a couple that are much darker in color, almost black, but couldn't quite get an angle on them to record.

    Is this an amphipod?

I'm not familiar with amphipods and I want to make sure this isn't something I should worry about. Recently introduced coral from WWC and after dipping placed it in my tank. Now i see these crawling all over snails and the glass.

Yellow corris wrasse for pest control

I have an exploration of amphipods that are eating my zoas. Yes I’m sure the pods are the problem. Will a yellow corris hunt pods and keep the population down? I know they sleep at night but if it kills the ones it find during the day it should help keep the population in check. I have...

    Amphipod or?

Hello all just wondering if these are amphipods or something else and should I be considered? There are TONS floating around in my tank and I just saw them tonight after lights out. I don’t see them during the day at all and they’re all just floating about, not on the sand bed at all. They...

Tiny orange worm? And tiny creatures on the glass.

My tank is fallow right now and with no fish around, I decide to focus more on the tiny things around the tank. I am seeing 3 creatures that I am not sure what they are. Amphipods turning orange?? (pics)

The amphipods in my fuge have been turning orange the last 2 weeks, and now about 45% of the large adults are orange. I have no idea why this is happening. Mysis Shrimp Bloom?

I’ve only seen this twice in the past 2 months. At night maybe an hour after the lights go off, hundreds of baby mysis shrimp are floating in the water column. Is this some sort of hatching event or something?

    Copepods now or later?

Good morning r2r! What’s everyone’s opinions on adding copepods? Before or after fish are added? Should I have the refugium up and running or the dry rock will provide enough hiding spaces? I’m about 6 weeks into my initial cycle of a new 125g long and triton 44 sump. My test kits are still...
