So we have finally began the journey! We just purchased this awesome 90g tank and stand. We got the canopy too just in case we like the look but we’re thinking of keeping it off.

We’re about to make the decision on a sump and I’m thinking either Bashsea or Redflex by ProClear. Main criteria is space in the stand of course. I can fit something 18” deep front to back, but 14.5”fits between the posts of the stand so it allows me to save like 3.5” of usable space for everything else I will keep down there. (Suggestions are welcome lol)

But here is the tank and stand! More to come when we get everything else rolling!

Been doing research on what to stock in my tank early on and I've come up with this list to hopefully add some vibrance and life to the tank! This is a couple months out before I start adding things but I want to be prepared and well-informed. Let me know if there are any discrepancies or incompatibilities that I should know about.

Engineer Goby
Coral Beauty Angelfish
Bangai Cardinal
Claarkii or Ocellaris Clown
Pistol Shrimp and Watchman pair

I'm might do a couple of certain ones but I'm not sure yet on numbers.

And for corals:
Zoas
Kenya Tree
and Pulsing Xenia

I think this will start with lots of color and variety in addition to being good and hardy livestock to start with!

Looks fantastic. Good luck.

So we have started cycling!!

But it’s been a lot of work to get to this point. My fiancé and I live in a historic house, so we had to do some work to really bolster the floor to hold the weight.

So a crawlspace, a hole, a concrete footer, 3 pole jacks, a ledger board and several showers later…. and our floor was floorin’.

Once that was set and solid. We bought the Sump: Trigger Systems Crystal 30
Return Pump: RedSea ReefRun G2 4000
Plumbing: Originally hard plumbed, now soft piped with black pond pipe.
Circulation: RedSea ReefWave 25
Substrate: CaribSea Arag-alive
Light: AI 39” Blade (Blue)
Heater: 300W EHEIM
And rock.

I soft piped it, set up the pump with the controller, placed the heater, filled her up with premixed coral water, set up the aqua scape, got the wake maker pumping, and tested seals and levels, and she was ready to run.

I put the 3.4 tsp of Ammonium Chloride in, along with a bottle of Fritz Zyme 9, and she is sumpin’ and pumpin’! Here’s some pics over the last couple steps.

I’m loving the progress and I’m so excited to keep going!
