Your build looks awesome.. too bad I'm up north otherwise I would trade a bunch of rock I got for access to your shop, and being a 2nd set of hands on your projects to pick up some new skills.
Looking forward to the progression on this one!

wish I could pass them on, have passed the skills of fly fishing on. Takes trial and error, plus a place to do it. Will complain that the CNC routers are taking the traditional wood working out. I use traditional mortise and Tennon joinery for my projects.

There will always be a market for traditional woodworking though, especially as time goes on and less and less people are doing it. Learning a skill like that, handed down from one person to the next, you can't put any price on that. My trade is land surveying, and I've taught several people over the years, but the product isn't as tangible as something like woodworking.
My Dad used to carve wood to pass the time as a midshipman in the merchant marine. I have several of his carvings, but he never showed me how before he passed. I've thought about giving it a try, just to see if it's something that's a inherited skill hehe, maybe one day. Eh sorry to go on and on in your build thread lol.
Great color choice for the stand! And I'm glad you decided to paint the back glass, it's such a clean look and I'm surprised so many people don't these days.

Finished the controller board, its turned out ok. It is removeable and upgradable. There is room for power brick storage as needed. No Apex or Hydros planned for the 40B build. Plenty of room for temp, LED light, wave maker, and fuge light timer controllers.

Been adding some controllers to the board. I know a lot of folks hate Jaebao powerheads, but one of these is over a year old and works fine. I purchased another one so I would have 2. Don't know if they will give me the flow I need yet, so this can change.

Wanted to add a few pic's of some other stuff, I have a pipe mount I made. The pipes were mounted when at rest, did this to cover distance from stand. Other pictures show some wire management, not complete but will be better before start up.

its rough, but will be better soon
It's nice though, to have the path already set with those brackets. Makes routing so much easier. Mine is a controlled mess lol.

I like your cube at the start of your tank build, Wife wants a nem tank. so that's nest
Thanks! Yeah for me and my space, this was a great fit. If anything, I would suggest doing a 3' square footprint, and only 18" - 20" high. That would be ideal.

Yeah, for that much I guess it would be unrealistic to control both outlets. Nice looking box tho.
BN-LINK makes all kinds of timers (amazon) I picked this one up because a friend of mine uses one to run his outdoor lighting. They are durable and low cost, easy to program also.

This one is made from acrylic. Had some 1/4 inch on hand, will see if it holds up. Had a problem with the spline slot on the right side piece, will recut another piece. Decided not to do complete polish on the edges, stopped at 2500 grit. You can see the polish level on the round piece for the feed hole lid. Tested this on the unusable right side piece, complete polish makes it look made in china. 1/4 inch white mesh from BRS and grey spline from amazon. Still have not decided to round the outside corners or not, I have a jig for my trim router to round them if needed.
