Ok so he is my thing. I am a diyer and I don't mind working at this hobby. I have never welded acrylic but Iam willing to try.
I have a 28g nano and the stand is tiny so a custom sump is a must to fit under the tank. I was given a wet/dry sump when I bought a 110gal but Iam not using it for that. I need to cut like an inch of the length and width. Is it possible to do something like that or am I better of making my own sump from acrylic from home depot? Iam looking to reuse what I have if at all possible.
Thanks for the help guys!

Several points to make. 1] This is my opinion. [from building several sumps from acrylic] 2] What you are proposing with the old sump is a bad idea. The old used acrylic will not bond easy or well after cutting. 3] I prefer to DIY to maximize whatever space I have to use. But getting good solvent joints takes a little practice. 4] The HomeDepot stuff is wrong for this job. It's to thin and low quality for what you need. Find "Acrylite FF" "Plexiglass G" or 1 other I forgot the name of. And use at least 1/4 [.220]
