Hello All. Started to build my aquarium stand.
If the stand will be build with standard 2x4 and 1/2" top plywood cover.
Do I need to install vertical support?
Tank is 48x24x17

Thank you
Aram

Ive had a 2x4 stand for a 4 foot tank and it is fine if built right. Just make sure you arrange the top 2x4 structure on top of the side 2x4 posts so that the horizontal boards are not hanging off thenposts

Properly built you don't need a center support. My 90 doesn't have one for easy access. If set up properly your span shouldn't be much larger than 3 foot. And if glued and screwed properly it won't move.
