I’d never seen Bumblebee shrimp in person so when I saw them for 10 bucks each at Petco I jumped at the opportunity. I was so excited I forgot about my candy cane pistol shrimp while mentally checking their compatibility with my tank.
I already have 3 sexy shrimp in with the pistol shrimp and haven’t had any issue. But the bumblebees are really small and based on my research can tend to roam around a bit more than the sexy shrimp who send to perch high up in my tank.
I currently have 3 of the 4 bumblebees in a mesh acclimation box in the tank to separate them from the 1 large shrimp who was bullying the others. I’m going to see how the bully does in the tank before I risk the other 3 but I was hoping to see if anyone had some insight or
advice!

Bumble bee shrimp are the coolest inverts I've ever had. I wouldn't worry about them, their behavior is similar to the sexy shrimp, they are ever more active than sexy shrimp IMO and they will likely stay away from the pistol shrimp, they are definitely faster than the pistol

They are awesome, very unique body shape and behavior. I’m excited to see them socialize together. I’ll probably release the rest very soon!

Randall’s (Candy Cane) pistols are among the more peaceful pistol species, and your sexy shrimp have been fine so far because they mostly stay up high. Bumblebees are smaller and wander more across the rock and substrate, so there’s a real chance the pistol could view them as food or competition, especially if it’s larger and territorial around its burrow.

Your plan to test the bully first is smart. Give it a few days to settle, add plenty of extra hiding spots, and only release the others if things stay calm. Keep a close eye on them at first many people have mixed them successfully in well-structured tanks, but it’s never a guarantee with any pistol shrimp. Good luck!

Pistols in general aren't that aggressive or prone to hunting, their guns are more for the 'leave me alone' and 'lets wake up the neighbors cause I'm single' factor than hunting.

Only ever seen one shooting hermit crabs that tumble down the hole and their shell block the entrance.
