So I got one of these guys in order to help my Harlequin take care of asterinas.

The Harlequin has been in there for almost six months now, and I still have quite a few asterinas in my tank.

I know there isn’t actual literature on what these guys eat but I like having random shrimp in my tank so I took the risk.

When I received it, I saw how small it was (size of a pinky nail) and I just accepted the fact that it would disappear and never be seen or die.

Well to my surprise, I actually see it every night on my Derasa. It just hangs out on the shell of the Derasa doing… something? Maybe eating stuff?

Just wondering if anyone else has had experience with these boogers.

You only got one? You should have gotten a handful of them, its amazing to watch them 'buzz' around the tank in groups. They do walk on corals similar to sexy shrimps, but they don't harm corals. Unfortunately its very rare I see them for sale, the last time I had them was a about 4-5 years ago. I don't know what they eat.

Overall they are one of the coolest inverts I've ever kept.

I would have gotten a trio but they only had one in stock!

I have never seen it do anything else. Not even hanging out with my asterinas.

All my cucumbers disappeared when I introduced it so maybe that’s related?

I know it's a gamble these days but liveaquaria supposedly has them in stock.
