Yes on the rodi water— I can bump up salinity and PH. Maybe do a small water change as I’ve seen some slight swings in PH as the tank gets established
dont bump up pH yet 8.0 is fine. i am interested in alk results as alk could be a little low. Soda ash will increase alk and bump up pH as well

The smell test is a sure fire way to tell if a nem is dead or not. And it will not disintegrate and nuke your tank overnight. This risk is overstated.

Thanks all - hopefully I didn’t just kill him by over reacting. Yikes!!
Salinity should be around 1.025

and are you using API test kits? They seem to be the most unreliable

Maybe give your newer tank time to mature before adding another one. Most people will say tank should be at least a year old but honestly I added mine before I hit a year (6months probably ) a lot of it’s just stability

Though my bubble doesn’t bubble she is a but hole

I do have the API test kit. What do you recommend instead?

Doesn’t look dead

how long have you had it

They go through phases where they exchange water

Zoas will close randomly

Thanks. Will give it a try. I put the nem back in after everyone’s advice here …we will see. Hopefully I didn’t shock the crap outta of it. Learning moments - huh.

Nems are actually very hardy as long as you get them started well. They need a mature tank probably 6 months minimum, decent lighting able to get in the high 100's for par. Beyond that just keep things stable.
