Strange for sure then. I'd say just wait it out and see what happens. From the pics they look plenty healthy. Could just be a fluke of sorts. If you have the opportunity to get a clearer pic I'd love to see what is really going on. I can't say that I have ever experienced anything quite like what you have described.
