This guy came out and burped detritus like this for a minute or two (that I saw) then went back in the hole under this chalice.

Any idea what this one is?

I think it’s a stomatella snail spawning. I saw one of mind doing this a few weeks ago.

Yes, I think so. The burps on mine were a bit more "sandy" looking but that looks like the same critter. Glad to see it's a good guy. - Thanks!

Super weird! Not scientific but I agree the original video was grainier release. Either are probably harmless. Glad you caught a good video of it. I have peanut and spaghetti worms (no Stomatella), and from locations I’ve known them to be, I’ve occasionally seen decent plumes of detritus expelled into the water; could never catch it on video.

Like I said either sound harmless. Hopefully you get more cleanup crew!
