Buying a Neptune Apex

Hey guys, so I was wondering if I can buy a neptune apex in parts and then assemble it, would it work?

It's not worth it though. I had a talk with @Terence and came to the realization of how much better of a deal it is to buy a full Apex that includes the probes and 832.

All the parts are basically plug and play, so there's no reason you couldn't buy each separately, but with the Apex (as with most controllers,) the cost of the individual parts exceeds the cost of the setup. Take the 2016 version - for $799 you get the head unit, an EB832, and Salinity, Temp, pH and ORP probes. Purchased separately, these would cost $950. Now, if you already have or don't want all of these then it may be possible to save a bit of money, but in the end, you won't save much if any money.

True - s/he didn't specify. If you are getting parts used at a discount that changes the equation somewhat.
