Cabinet Lighting Made Simple

Ever found something that's not an aquarium related item that works great in our hobby? Here's one I just stumbled on.

Happen to be in a local big box hardware retailer and bought these for our kitchen -> https://www.blackanddecker.com/prod...-lighting-kit-natural-daylight-12/leduc12-3dk

It was super easy to install, no drilling (lights have brackets & 3M tape) and they have 10 dimmer settings. At first I thought they were "eh" when looking at the box. Once installed they're AWESOME. Tiny little things (9" across & barely an inch wide) but all I can say is wow they put out ALOT of light. After installing in my kitchen, both tank stands are getting them. Wave your hand in front of included sensor and instant on. B&D has all kinds of configurations and you can daisy chain a bunch together. The 3 light set-up I bought was a little over $30

I like the led roll tape strips. They change colors, cheap, and easy to install.
Thanks for posting another option though.

Once I get them installed I'll post pics. I like these because it's pretty much "hands free". Only thing I can think of easier would be break-out box with a switch on door(s)

Exactly how mine are setup with those sticky, waterproof, encapsulated LED strip tapes. They change color and everything, but I think I lost the remote at some pint, so they are just white now.

Magnetic switches on the doors, hooked up to a BOB. Best hands free way to light the interior of your cabinet.

Where are finding them for $39? Their site only has one place that sells them and a single bar is $80 and 3 bar is $140. ;Jawdrop

I too am looking for affordable cabinet lighting that I can use with my Apex breakout box.

Hi - how many doors on your cabinet? I am looking to install magnetic switches on my 3 cabinet doors, how did you wire them so that the lights come on when any of the 3 doors is opened?

Wire the 3 (normaly open) magnetic switches in parallel, that way when the apex sees anyone of them closed it will turn on the lights. If you had normally closed switches, you would wire them in series, if anyone of them opened, the apex would turn them on.

I am a wiring neophyte - do not know the difference between wiring in parallel or series, and since I have not bought the switches yet, is there a difference (price or functionality) in getting normally closed versus normally open switches?
