After hopping out of the hobby for a couple of years while building a new house it’s time to hop back in. Shopped for tanks for awhile and after looking at all of the usual suspects I landed on the Cade. Would have went with a Waterbox Aquarium but they were not offering the tank I wanted on sale during their blue day YouTube special video cast. But very glad I landed on Cade. First I was going with a 60 cube then jumped to a 3ft tank the my wife said we need to do the 4ft tank, so here we are.
Lighting: kessil 360x
Controller: Apex
Return pump: Cor 15
Power heads: 2 maxspect Gyre pumps
Skimmer:
Heaters: 2 x 200w finnex titanium heaters

we shall see how this goes.

I’m going to 3D print some furniture grommets for the holes in the control panel from orange PLA. Skimmer might be undersized when I get closer to fully stocked as I bought that skimmer based on a 85g display. Same thing with Gyre pumps they might need to be upsized. We will see! Rock work starts today or tomorrow and I’m waiting on lights which should be here next week. I’m excited to get it wet! I also routed 4 RO lines through the floor into the crawl space where my Salt water mixing station will be. I will integrate an automatic water change system with an Apex DOS pump. I have to head to the local AgriSupply to pick up two 65g containers for fresh RO and Salt water then I can get that plumbed out also. It’s a lot of work but should make things much easier as everything matures.

After getting water in and the cycle started I added a few things to my current apex set up. I added a red 24v led strip to the back of the aquarium that acts as a visual alert at the tank to back up the email or text alerts through apex fusion. I got this idea from Devin from the ReefDudes YouTube channel. I also added a Co2 scrubber to help hold up my Ph especially here in the winter where my whole family spends much of the day inside and Co2 builds up and is holding Ph down. I hoping to add a test piece of coral by the end of February.

I’m also using Kessil lights with my Cade. I had to buy another extension bar for the light mounts to get the lights more to the center of the tank. Very nice aquascape!

I possibly mounted my lights a little different but mine are essentially exactly in the middle. Here is a picture.

Did you need something like this to extend your lights? With the standard arm mount, my lights would only reach the back 1/3 of the tank. I used these extension slide bars to extend the kessils further out

(wished I was as clever as you to flip the mounting arm brackets the other way)
