Cade revealed the new S3 Reef Tank today at a fragarama event in Australia and it looks the goods. They are Euro braced with cut outs for lights, wave maker cords etc and comes with a poly carb lid.
The doors are now aluminium instead of glass but you can’t really tell the difference, the sump has been overhauled with a refugium and algae trap and the power board has been upgraded also.
These are due to be released mid July but I’m sure Cade will release all the pics and details soon.
You can watch the fragarama walk thru video on parkersreef YouTube channel, here’s a few shots from the video.

I was at that! Was a really good day, lots of all sorts of really nice kit on display. That tank was pretty impressive. The stand opened on 3 of the 4 sides and even though it had a sump in there it didn't really feel as "cramped" as you'd expect.

Nice!
Was there a control board still on the side and what was behind where the controllers where at the front where the chiller usually went?

Honestly I couldn't tell you at this point. We spent a lot less time looking at it compared to the smaller one that was set up to the left of it (the cade S2/F 600).

This is what I want to know. Was going to get a new S2 in the next few months most likely (well that or a waterbox).. but really want to see the S3 changes. The sump layout changes will be key.

Yeah I'm looking to upgrade to a 1200 S2 in a few months but after seeing the S3 I'm also holding off, the sump changes look pretty good from what I saw in the video so I'll wait for the specs and prices to be released.

The Gallery Aquatica posted looks great. I have the reef 1500 s2. Now can’t wait to get the details of the s3……might need another reef, but don’t tell the mrs!!!

The S3 tanks are next level compared to the S2, they’re available from August 1 and from what I’ve read they’ll be pricier then the current series.

Can you adapt the sump to fit a rollermat in that 600 sump do you know?

In the features listed above it says they've provided plenty of space for roller mats
I was talking about the S2 600 as that’s what they said they were paying more attention to. I know the s3 has been designed to take their own new mat.
I see you done it with yours, that’s good to know. How do you find living with it day to day, is it too cramped?

Ever since I swapped out the ReefMat 500 for the 250 the sump is a lot less cramped now.

Any explanation why they went with the Eurobrace? It goes against the rimless look. May make reaching the bottom of the tank to clean the glass a bit more difficult.

I thought maybe they are reducing glass thickness, but that doesn’t appear to be the case.

Looking forward to seeing one.
