Top value is to purge the cylinder when initially filling with water.
pump intake is for tank water feed
pump out put w/valve is for effuent. - feed to tank

Thank you. Well dang, I traded it in yesterday for a Korallin 1501. The pumped leaked on this particular model and the ph probe port needed to be replaced. Just so many issues. Now that I know all this I might re buy it from the store
