I am currently using red sea coral pro salt and the calcium in my tank is running around 500 without doing anything other than a 40 gallon water change weekly on my 220. The bucket said it should mix to around 450 to 480 but I did a water change yesterday and checked my fresh salt water mixed with our ro and it’s mixing at 520. Could my Hannah calcium tester be faulty? I don’t have anything else to compare it to and I’m wondering if this is hurting my corals ? Thanks

Having the same issue. (3 months later)
Pretty common issue with these elevated salt mixes. I am finishing up my last few gallons of reef Crystal's and switching to fritz rpm which mixes to nsw parameters. I tested my reef Crystal's and got 10.8 dkh alk, 520 ppm calcium, and 1600 ppm magnesium.. needless to say it's annoying when I do a water change and it spikes alk and cal. Fritz apparently mixes 8.0-9.0 dkh and 450 cal and 1350 mag.

Thanks for your thoughts. I'm having to do too many dosing adjustments after 20-25% water changes. Perhaps I'll give Fritz a try also.
