Hello,

I am still learning this fixture and curious on what % do you run your color & intensity?
I have LPS couple SPS.

Thanks!

whats your tank dims and how high is the light above the water line?
it kind of varies. my tank was 24 x 24 x 24, mounted 9" above and mine hit 50% intensity at max during the 10 hr light cycle.
i had to back it down to about 35% at the beginning and increased it every 3-4 days till i hit 50%, i only had LPS in the tank though

You need to figure out the PAR its delivering. I believe at 100% @12in its about 500 par max. Color mix is irrelevant save that it effect the amount of par delivered(white is a higher par), the blue only side of that seems to grow coral just fine as well, its a wider spectrum than many apparently.

cough cough lux cough meter cough cough .....;)

during the 10 hr light cycle.
+1. DLI will effect intensity setting choices.

360 has kessil logic you do what ever color you want and the coral will receive the proper spectrum no matter what.
+1
Let the "Kessil Logic" do it's thing and just focus on the spread an intensity. :)

I have my Kessil running for a little over a year and it never got over 40% intensity but then I got few SPS corals and was greening everything out. I heard this is can be from low par so I have slowly been ramping up to 50%. Also, I've read not to go over 50% color because of algae issues.

I just put a 360we on my 18x18x18" cube. The controller arrives tomorrow so for the time being I have the color at 9:00 and the intensity at 12:00. The light is 10" off the water. I had it lower but talked to Kessil and they strongly suggested to use the recommended 12-24" height so I went from 6 to 10". It was nice having less light spill but if they say higher I guess that's what I'll do.

I wouldn't be able to stand that much spill over. I thought the whole point in the kessil was the dense led layout so that the colors blended immediately. They're the experts though.

The reasons he gave were spread, intensity, and longevity of the light due to staying cleaner. I don't really need the spread on my Reefer Nano. I will agree that when I had it at 6" even at the lowest intensity it was too powerful and since I have moved it up my anemone looks happier. The higher the light the cleaner it stays is a no brainer. It does look cool mounted up higher. Maybe a mangrove is in order.

That definitely makes sense that it keep the fixture cleaner and I bet it does look better that way but I'd like to have the light in the tank haha. You hear so many different stories with the Kessil 360 regarding the color and intensity people use that its truly whatever works for you just stick to it.
