So it’s not plumbed into the return pump?Mine is horizontally mounted, over the sump. Pump is feeding it in the sump and the return is right back to the sump
no issues for me.
Do your input and output both come from the same chamber in the sump? I’ve worried that if I put a higher gph pump in the sump for the uv unit that it would drain the water from the chamber it was in unless the output was in the same one. But then would I be resterilizing the same water? Does that make sense?Mine is not plumbed into the return. I just have a sicce pump dedicated to the UV, with an Apex flow meter in the UV output line to make sure the flow stays at the desired rate. Much simpler this way …
Thanks! So if I have 3/4” plumbing, which size of the Apex flow meter do you recommend?Mine is not plumbed into the return. I just have a sicce pump dedicated to the UV, with an Apex flow meter in the UV output line to make sure the flow stays at the desired rate. Much simpler this way …
If between sizes of the flow meter, go up. So use the 1”.Thanks! So if I have 3/4” plumbing, which size of the Apex flow meter do you recommend?
Thanks! I wish it would fit front to back but the cord to the ballast sticks out too far. If I plumb it with tubing I can easily remove it to change the bulb. Can you tell me what fitting you used to conn connect the tubing to the pvc pipe? I think it’s something like what I have on my return pump but I don’t know what it’s called. I really appreciate your help!
57 watt inline with return. 1.25” on the in and out.
Helpful to mount front-back for easy bulb changes/ cleaning.
Actually I measured the return pvc from the outside instead of the inside. It’s 3/4”If between sizes of the flow meter, go up. So use the 1”.
The options for Apex flow sensors is 1/2", 1" and 2". Don't go down in size. I would get the 1" and then adapt to your plumbing.Actually I measured the return pvc from the outside instead of the inside. It’s 3/4”

This is terrific! Thanks so much! The options for Apex flow sensors is 1/2", 1" and 2". Don't go down in size. I would get the 1" and then adapt to your plumbing.
In my setup I have:
Return pump (COR 20) -->BSPP to 1.25" slip union (included with COR)--> 1.25" spigot to 1.25" hose barb (link)--> 1.25" soft silicone tubing (link)--> 1.25" hose barb to 1.25" spigot--> 1.25" slip to 2" spigot adapter (link)--> 2" AquaUV union (link) --> UV Sterilizer
This is exactly how I wish to setup mine..................Thanks for sharing!

It’s cool how the tubing glows. This is exactly how I wish to setup mine..................Thanks for sharing!
Mine has its own pump. I feel I can control the flow better that waySo it’s not plumbed into the return pump?
What is BSPP?The options for Apex flow sensors is 1/2", 1" and 2". Don't go down in size. I would get the 1" and then adapt to your plumbing.
