Have one acan in my tank, smaller. Adding another one this week, wondering if I can put them close together? Possibly even to grow together someday. They won't hurt each other if they touch will they? Also wondering the same about favias and favites. Although. I think the answer is more clear with them.

They can be close but I would not let them touch. Acans have very short but very destructive sweeper tentacles, so give them a little room.

Oh alright. Favias I know, at least mine have very long sweepers. Haven't seen any from my from my acan. Good to know, thank you.

Acanthastrea lordhowensis have been re-classified as micromussa lordhowensis. So, being the same species, how often have you observed them killing each other? There are three, now four species of Micromussa, so possibly that is what you have observed.

Micromussa Lorhowensis can touch. My clownfish throw frags around onto each other more often than i like and I have not personally had any adverse reaction. I have also seen Lord comboo rocks with them growing up against each other.

Acan Echinata can be really aggressive to Acanthastrea lordhowensis, and other LPS.

I have my acans close to each other some are touching. I wouldn't put a echinata near them or any other species.
