I have this algae in my tank for quite some time now. Any ideas on what it is or how to beat it? Seems to form long stringy parts as well as form almost a film or "webbing" over the rock. Color is brown. Let me know if you have any ideas. Thank you.

early stage dino. Rather than going into a dino battle, start with white lights off for 3-5 days and during the day, add 1.5ml of liquid bacteria such as Bacter 7 per 10 gallons. At night add 1ml of 3% peroxide in the sump per 10 gallons.
Clean filters daily and Prior to doing the above- Blow loose with a turkey baster and net or siphon up the loose matter.
Do NOT add coral foods or NoPox which will promote dino

Tank is 4 months old. It's my first tank. Yes Phosphate and Nitrate are basically 0. I've turned off the skimmer for now and will hold off on cleaning the filter socks.
You can knock this out before it takes hold of your tank. Vetteguy has good suggestions to remedy the situation. Feed more, dose neophos and neonitro to get numbers up before the dinos get worse. Siphon up what you can. You want to change sock daily if you blow algae into the water column. Sock will filter it out too.

I have siphoned as much as I could into the filter sock and cleaned it. I will do so as often as I can. Thank you so much for your help in solving. I dont have any bacteria solutions or peroxide so I'll stick with manual removal and allowing nitrates to build up. I'll order some bacteria 7 and add it when I can.
