Can anyone help identify pls

Hey so I’ve started to see this type of algae of sorts growing on my frag rack. Looks like a combination of Cyano or Dinos. I’m not sure what’s going on. Tank has been running for a few months with establish media from my previous tank. Can I get some help in fixing this thanks

Lols took a while to get this ugly tbh. It just finally got to this after like 3 months after I set it up

Honestly I’ll keep an eye out in the morning and see. I normally don’t look at the tank much during the day due to work. I just noticed it . But I do keep up with maintenance weekly. And from last week it wasn’t as bad as now

The most ideal way to identify is a microscope but if you don't have access to one, there are plenty of people here to hopefully figure it out

Everytime you change something in a young immature tank you upset what balance you might have had. Maybe your flow is too low or its just going through the stages of uglies.....3 month tank is early. Slow down stop addding more corals especially torches at this stage......Just My Opinion

I also agree with this. even though you started with established rock, it will still take time for the biological system to stabilize once you make a major change like restarting a tank. I would definitely slow down on changing anything else until you get this cleared up.

Could just be GHA. do you have CUC? I was happy when I saw my emerald crab make his way over to my frag rack and started scraping algae off the frag plugs for me.

I think seeing a FTS would help determine what kind of algae it is, plus photos under white lights. Do you notice the algae having bubbles that go away as your lights turn off?

And what cleanup crew did you say you had?? ...maybe you need more cleanup ...snails....more than you think more...

So I attached photos of it pure white lights. The “algae” still seems to be there. Bubbles and all still there even after lights out. Also seems like the bubbles are staying in the top of the surface aswell. Haven’t added any new corals other than fragging my OGs . Currently moved so they just in the holding tank until I setup the new tank. Just trying to get what ever I have here under control

I only had a few snails. Don’t remember the name it’s the ones that usually go under the Sand.

No nassarius or cerith wont help with algae. you need astrea or trochus, turbos but id get the other ones so it wont knock your corals over or aff your racks...turbos get kind of big for me. I cant tell what that brown stuff is..maybe its just algae cant say. The bubble stuff you can pick it off manually if your talking about bubble algae. Valonia? Thought i seen some on a frag plg or two. What is that under the racks is that rock? You dont seem to have any live rock or much if that what that is

So are these tanks just temporary setups from a tank you took down or what you been using for 3 months until you setup a new tank. Aagin looks like no rock or not much if thats rock under the grates. Could be just not mature enough and your getting uglies...I think you need some snails.........cant tell if maybe its dino's or diatoms

Do this is a temporary setup from a setup I had for about 2yrs. I had just moved to my new house and I’m still getting situated. There’s some cycled media in the bags under the rock also pieces of rock in the filter.(as much as I could make it fit). I’ll try scrapping the the bubble algae and I guess letting the tank mature as I setup the new display. I’ll also stop by my LFS to get new CUC
