hi acan, favia leaning to acan nice color

would suggest lower light for now

We are in a debate with the LFS guy on what type this is. He swears it’s a Fabian, but the store we bought it from was saying is was a Goni. Who is right, or are both of them wrong? Thanks.

poss goni, that pic leaning acan how long have you had it

Our LFS is babysitting for now as our parameters were not correct according to them. The are helping us get things right before we put it back in our tank. We are new to all this so is there something special about this coral? They got excited when we brought it in.

nice color? looks pretty bad in that pic, maybe just a bad pic?
That’s part of it but we had issues with some of our levels in the tank as well. It’s being babysat at the store until things are right.

nice hot color

About a month ago. When we bought it the young lady was not feeling well and couldn’t remember the name but she kept saying some thing that sounded like an STD.

lol

We got it because it was so striking. It is our favorite so far.

Unless that frag plug is absolutely huge, it is not an Acan/Micromussa/Favia corralites are way to small. It is either a very unhappy Goniopora or small chance Porites either way based on what I can see it is something in the family of Poritidae. Small possibility of Alveopora as well which was moved to Acroporidae last year. Either way it is not very happy.

normal sized plug 1 1/2 or so. It looks a lot better since it was moved to the store. I’ll have my wife get a better pic and post on Tuesday.

leaning that way more after the std comment LOL:)

we're doing all this joking lol,is funny, but truly hope coral makes a good come back,it is beautiful in color, little rough around the edges
