Can anyone ID this stringy algae (?)

Noticed this floating around after cleaning the glass. It’s a new tank with a significant diatom bloom. Obviously it holds together quite well.

Eggs from what? I think it came from the film I scraped off the glass.
A hitchhiker on the rocks? From your answer the tank is empty? I've seen snail and nudibranch egg masses that will look like that. I don't think an algae would "appear" that quickly, and that long?

Tank is lightly stocked, six weeks old, and has only tiny snails. Rock is Caribsea LifeRock. It really seemed like whatever the film on the glass was clumped up and formed those strings as I was scraping.

Yeah I would say those are eggs as well, you can see the embryos
I couldn’t quite believe it could be from one of the little snails I have but one has possibly been caught in the act. Is this what it would look like?
