I’m housesitting and the owners have a large freshwater aquarium with a really cool selection of fish. There’s one I cannot identify and the owners don’t know what they are either.... Maybe you can help me out?
Thanks!!

I think it is definitely some type of tetra. Rainbowfish don't have the small adipose fin that the fish in picture has. Not many fish have that extension in the middle of the caudal fin like the Emperor Tetra (which I still think it is). Even the Congos, who do have fin extensions, are not really pointed like that. I don't know....hard to say o_O

Looks like some kind of hybrid. I agree with a tetra of some sort but the front chest area reminds me of a hatchet fish. Not sure if a hatchet and a tetra could cross breed but if possible that's what is venture my guess on.

Colombian tetra?

Female Congo Tetra and not all of them have single dorsal fin male have more elaborate coloration and longer fins

i agreee some kind of hybrid tetra of the large variety ...
