Can GAC on air intake of skimmer affect Tang, cause HLLE?

I have stopped using GAC in the tank as I understand it can cause HLLE.

However, can I repurpose the reactor and GAC as a scrubber for my air intake into my skimmer?

I'm planning on bringing my air intake out into the garage, and was wondering if this reuse is valid? Would the GAC, that is used typically in water, be effective in air?

And the bigger question, would dust from the carbon risk getting into the tank and potentially cause HLLE?

I do not think any harmful amount carbon dust would make it past the skimmer. It should be trapped in the bubbles and skimmed out.
