Starting on a new 75 gallon tank. I have two others with extra live rock in them. I also have an order in for Tampa Bay Saltwater’s the package. Should I cycle my current 10 pounds of sand and 25 pounds of live rock in the system until the live rock and sand comes in?
Thanks IMG_0685.jpeg

If the rock is already "live" you don't need to cycle. The difference sand makes is minimal.

Thanks. It’s probably overkill but thought having bacteria on the tank walls and sump equipment would be a good head start. Also considering recycling water change waste into the new tank. Thoughts?

No need for either. The rocks are what carry the load.

I'd start them in a brute shielded from any light source, then transfer everything over once the live rock arrives.

Gotcha. Yes, no harm in adding it to your current system either. Unless there's something like aiptasia you don't want to transfer to the new system.

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
