Can macroalgae help problems like nitrate nitrite and more?

Nitrate and Phosphate Absorption: Macroalgae (such as Chaetomorpha or "Chaeto," Ulva / sea lettuce, and Caulerpa) consume nitrogen (in the form of nitrates) and phosphorus (phosphates) from the water column as they grow and undergo photosynthesis.

Sargassum is more of a display macro algae and tends to be a slower grower. For nutrient export, you will be better with something fast growing such as Chaeto or Caulerpa. If you don’t have a place for a refugium, there are plenty of fast growing macro algae’s that can be grown safely in the display tank as well.
