I got this plate coral on Friday. I noticed white on it after a few days but figured it was probably just sand and didn’t want to bother it. Normally plates puff themselves up to get sand off them so now that it’s been almost a week I took a turkey baster to it, come to find it’s skeleton.

I doubt I’m going to get a replacement on it even though it’s 7 days guarantee. Does this thing have a chance at all? I know plates are super sensitive to stings and such. All parameters are in range and just checked this morning. It was acclimated correctly and it’s not close to anything that could sting it at all. All other plates are fine.

Sometimes they can heal themselves but it will take some time.

I would be concerned, ive only had 2 in the past and for no apparent reason i started seeing what you see. I tried dipping but eventually it was dead.

Sometimes they will produce baby plates off the skeleton if it does die. So keep it in the tank either way...

As long as the flesh isn't torn and your system is right, you should be ok.

I have 3 other plates in the tank too. All are healthy and happy, this one just doesn’t want to live apparently
