I have a mushroom coral I got from a really reputable shop. It’s really healthy and doing great in my tank. I started spot feeding reef roids and noticed a little white tentacle/worm popping out whenever I spot feed. Is that it’s feeding tentacle? Or what exactly is it? If anyone could help me understand and learn that would be awesome!

Are you positive it's not a worm of some sort? I agree that shrooms do sometimes show their stomachs, but the pic looks too uniform. Does the tentacle come out of the white "tube"?

Evolution screwed up with the entire kingdom, and provided them all mouths, Even though they don't eat directly...

Sounds legit.
It's all the radiation from the UV LEDs, lol.

Sounds legit.
Maybe it's not a mouth, but a belly button...?

Mushrooms do not feed directly.

Probably sweepers to remove the irritants that you are putting on it.
Oh my gosh this is blatantly wrong.
Mushrooms can and do feed directly.

Please do not spread misinformation like you are. Do your research first.

@Hoodstream , post more pics if you can.
Ultimately, even if it's a hitchhiker, if the mushroom doesn't seem bothered (faded, shrunken, etc), it's probably fine.
Wont be able to replicate it unless I feed again so I can just show you the whole video I uploaded it to YouTube from my Snapchat. Video Here
