Can someone identify this please?

I bought a tank with fish and coral and I'm not sure what this coral is. Also, what is the green stingy stuff growing in the back. I have a bunch of it.

Captain Jerk Palythoa and what looks like Green wiry algae. Manually removing it from the base is an effective method. I've got the same stuff and my tuxedo urchin eats it.

these look more like the nuclear green palys to me. My captain jerks have a different coloration to them!

Whether you wanna call them capt jerks or nuclear green they’re palys and so can become invasive. They also require special care while handling. They pose little risk in the course of reefing but you need to use PPE if cutting or removing them. They’re best kept off the rock work and on the sandbed.
