Can this pump run in saltwater?

I purchesed this new pump the other day and was reading the manual and read under CAUTION: " do not operate in salt water." and was wondering if it would be okay to. I would think if it says DO NOT run in SW that means not to. Could be it contains parts that would corrode. So I would say, no you can't.

I would not unless its using a ceramic impeller shaft. Thats usually why they are not SW safe.

generally, if the package says not to run in SW...its probably not the best idea.
