Hooked up my mp 40 to my new 40 breeder but seemed to binning hot?
Can I use mp 40 on 40 breeder or should I go buy mp 10 today?

I don't see why not. I have seen a 40b with 2 mp 40 on it. I run mine wutn an mo 10 and a tunze that I plan to replace with a second mp 10.

Ok cool I'm just worried because it set up at inlaws so I don't need a tank cracking or anything like that

Bb I assume on these recommendations? If there will be sand in tank expect a constant dust storm. Way overkill IMO and recommend a mp10. Even the 40 turned down the undertow is crazy strong and probably will be way too much for a tank that size.

I have both my mp 40 set up now on low on the 40 breeder
The tank is bb and is set up to keep sps only with few acans

I'm pretty happy with the flow only concern is tank busting a Seam or something like that !

I have 2 mp40s on my 40b. they are running just over half power. I also have a sand bed. plenty of flow but not crazy flow.
