You can use eggshells if you want something you have around the house
How many for 120g…. I can only eat so many omelettes.

On second thought, there’s over 100 ways to cook eggs. I’ll figure something out.

Can you use milk to increase calcium in an aquarium. Or would it kill your fish. Would live to know because then when my fish are low of calcium I have to go to my fridge instead of the fish store.
yes but you should use buttermilk, it's way tastier for the fish than 2%

Yes you can. Will it work? I don't think so.

So, just to recap. …...

There is a history adding to aquariums foods, body fluids, and chemicals including milk (IspeakForTheSeas), honey (IspeakForTheSeas), vodka (A4edwin), urine ( x Tonycass12,Koh23), stump remover (Gtinnel), driveway de-icer (Gtinnel) as additives for nutrition or cycling.

Others have suggested other calcium sources, example Tums (Tamberav). While an excellent source of food grade calcium, the absorption is low. That is why medicine prefers calcium citrate for its water solubility. As saltwater is a liquid, this is a plus. You'll have to watch your alkalinity and KH as it dissolves to calcium ion and citric acid.

As HuneyBear noted, you will also have to treat milk as “hazardous waste.” The Federal government is serious about this:

U.S. Court, FDA: Raw Milk Like Toxic Waste
https://wholefoodusa.wordpress.com/2009/01/13/us-court-fda-raw-milk-like-toxic-waste/

There has also be reports of milk killing fish:

Spilt Milk Actually Kills Fish and Screws Up the Water
https://www.gawker.com/5879234/spilt-milk-actually-kills-fish-and-screws-up-the-water

But as we all know, there are intrepid reefers pioneering the “Bleeding Edge” of science. The call may have been “That's a negative, Ghostrider,” (Coxey8), but we all know what happens next. So in the spirt of “No pain, no gain,” let us use examine what the Physician's Desk Reference (PDR) entry for “Milk” would look like:

Ichthyologic Whole 2% Pasteurized Homogenized Milk (G Santana, NowGlazeIT)

Classes : Pediatric Ichthyologic food supplement
DEA Class : Over The Counter (OTC)
Description: Mixture used as a nutrient supplement for pediatric ichthyologic calcium and carbon sourcing.
Common Brand Names: TBD
How Supplied: Gallon, Half Gallon, Pint jugs
Population: Pediatric ichthyologic populations, adults should be prescribed beer (90's reefer)
Dosage and Indications: Starting dose 1cup milk/gallon of tank water (Duncan62)
Maximum Dosage: TBD
Dosing Considerations: TDB (TheHunterYall)
Administration: Orally via baby bottle (ColoredRock) or Sippy Cup
Storage: Refrigerator (Obsessed With Fish)
Contraindications/Precautions: TBD
Adverse Reactions: Diabetic fish tanks might experience a bacterial bloom due to the excessive sugar (marcusbacus); it may also cause a milk mustache on all fish
Drug Interactions: Synergistic effect with powdered chocolate
Pregnancy/Lactation: TBD
Mechanism of Action: TBD
Pharmacokinetics: positive shift with cookies (Joe's Coral Reef) and carbon (ColoredRock)
Sourcing: free range manatees (Snorklr) and pharma grade catfish (Bombschell), never from soy or coconut (G Santana)

I realize Bombschell is “shocked how much attention this thread got!” However, at the risk of others “Having a cow” over the “UTTERly” ridiculous, feel free to fill in the blanks and “To Be Determined” (TBD) values.

Don your hazmat suits reefers,
Jim

Yup, unless some reefer fills in the side effect profile. Consider human drug TV commercials with the happy humans playing in idyllic scenery as a cryptic voice reads, "May cause death, stroke, heart attacks, dismemberment, impotence, rashes, .... and one to become a politician."

A milk aquarium additive's commercial would have schooling fish contently swimming among corals as the cryptic voice reads, "May cause Ich, bloat, pop-eye, cancer, clamped fins, dropsy, velvet/Gold Dust Disease, Hole in the Head Disease, Hemorrhagic septicemia, Lateral Line Disease, Swim Bladder Disease, Tail and Fin Rot, Mouth Rot, Lymphocystis, Gas Bubble Disease, Polycystic Kidney Disease, an increased susceptibility to parasites, fungus, gill mites, and fish lice, and a desire to audition for a 'Finding Nemo' sequel."

Have a great Holidays,
Jim

I would have the same reaction if somebody asked if you could dose vodka
Wait. You mean your supposed to put it IN the tank? I thought it was merely a mild sedative for overactive reefers. I mean, it works for me.
