Question about my birdsnest it died off on the bottom... the die off has stopped and appears to actually still be growing again... my question is what can cause die off like this? I was told by someone that higher flow will cause the birdsnest to grow so tight it would shadow and kill the base... any truth to this? It does have a rather thick tight top to it...

It just seems to me that as it grows, the base is getting less light and flow, so it died off. If it bothers you a lot you can take the colony out and clip off all of the dead parts and only put the living back, but that’s a lot of glue and money lol
