So I have frags of both and since adding them to my tank over 6 months ago both strains have lost their yellow stripe. Is there a trick to keeping it that I am not aware of? I have them at the best par areas of my tank. Just looking for feedback. Pic included

thanks!

Not sure. They do tend to naturally morph as time goes on. Do you know what kind of lighting they were under in the tank they came from?

Nope unfortunately not. I got them at different times too from different people. I've seen them happen to people and in old tanks I've gained colors with my old chinese LEDs lol. Now I have hydra HD and I lose color. Go figure. I'm guessing it has to do with using kalk in my ato and it not being very consistent but who knows. I put them in lower par areas of my tank today to see if that helps. I've had rainbow acans go red and then get their color back with less light

putting colors together that are similiar can result in them looking the same as they morph.

yeah sometimes and I can agree except these weren't together and nothing else like that. They just lost the yellow ring which seems to be pretty common.

just odd that i have blasted them for months under hydra HDs and they lost their yellow then.
Ya know, I have some Cars in one of my tanks and that one has a Hydra 26hd on it. They are totally different from the same exact strain of cars from my big tank w Kessil ap700 and reefbright blues combo. The ones lit w Hydra have zero color comparatively. I’m not a big fan of the hydras. My Corals are not near as happy and healthy compared to the RB Kessil tank. There are other differences in systems that could also affect coloration as well but I think lights are key to Zoa’s

nice thanks for the comparison. Hydras are full spectrum and I do keep the red and green pretty low. I wonder if I should just pump them up? I was considering adding T5's too. I guess this is going to force me to do it. Thanks again, great reply!

I used t-5s a long time and did love them. I really really love the reefbrite. They r awesome. I chose them over the t-5 this build and would never go back. Jmo
